Kitchen and Bath Design and Cabinetry serving Eau Claire Chippewa Valley by Dorig Designs

Kitchen and Bath Design and Cabinetry serving Eau Claire Chippewa Valley by Dorig Designs Video Clips. Duration : 1.77 Mins.

Originally built in 1901, this dutch colonial home was remodeled and modernized for a growing family. The challenge was to maintain its historical charm and salvaging the original house parts was key. In the kitchen, poppy-designed leaded glass windows, part of the old exterior, became cabinet fronts framing the sink window. A colonnade with a partial wall opens up the kitchen while maintaining a clear separation from the dining room. The generously sized island seats five and makes use of every space with hidden storage behind and tall pull-outs at the ends. The 48" Wolf range has 2 griddles that the family loves to use for breakfast; its specific placement allows the couple to cook side by side. In the master bath, glass display cabinets originally part of the nook downstairs were turned into medicine cabinets on either side of the vanity. The arch framing the mirror was designed to complement those cabinets. An old claw foot tub was refinished and is now a functional piece of art. Set at an angle, it becomes the focal point as one enters the bath. White subway tiles finish the walls and are trimmed with a border of espresso and chocolate milk colored mosaics. Hexagon-shaped tiles finish the flooring. The faucets, lighting fixtures, and hardware are all finished in satin nickel. The large mirror and the glass above the shower walls create a sense of spaciousness and allow daylight to fill the entire room.
